Put in my place

posted in Blogging Rants |

Me: “Guess what, I just joined Facebook

Younger, hipper cousin: “Hwwwahhhh ha ha ha.  That’s hilarious. YOU on Facebook!”

I then proceeded to toss to the back of the closet the clothes I just purchased at Forever 21 and turned off The Bachelor.  That guy was a total jerk, anyway.

I just joined Facebook yesterday myself. I know I’m probably not the oldest person there, since there are a whole bunch from my college class (1987) on there already. Hey, it could be worse - it could be MySpace…

What’s wrong with MySpace? Hehe. Yeah, I’m on MySpace, but not Facebook. I only got a MySpace page beacuse my husband told me that I was such a dork to NOT have a MySpace page. I am really glad that I do now so I can keep in contact with old friends, new friends, and former students.

What is going on….. Everyone seems to be joining Facebook - First Marketing Mommy and now you.

I tried and can’t even figure out how to use it.

I have a myspace page: www.myspace.com/shannanb but I don’t check it that often.

    I have become so lame….

I dunno… I have both MySpace and a Facebook and had to wait until Facebook opened up to non-collegiates to get one. Right now, Facebook seems more like what it says it is - networking via a certain connection or aspect. MySpace, on the other hand, seems like a place for people to hook up. Just ask the guys who do ZIP code searches and send me biweekly invites to the male strip club…

crapola - I forgot to say “Welcome to Facebook!”

The friends I have there are actually people I’ve met in real life, in school. I would love to hear how anyone parlayed a Facebook networking connection into a Real Job ™.
