Even Angelina Jolie can’t make up her mind

Apparently, picture-perfect mom Angelina Jolie is making a lot of folks mad with her wishy-washy ways. According to recent reports, Jolie has changed her mind about being an SAHM. As we all know, she recently adopted a young boy, Pax, from Vietnam. After the adoption, Jolie was quoted as saying,

I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life.

Well that lasted all of a month. News has it that she’s jetted off to Chicago (think I’ll see her!?) to film a new movie. All those celebrity weeklies like Us and People are all mad now because they feel “duped” by her recent actions. And working moms are all fired up because of her unreasonable demands at the day care she takes her brood to.

According to The National Ledger, at the $931 per month day center she takes the kids she requests no photos, no eye contact and demands that parents aren’t allowed to look at her. It’s also reported that other moms and dads dropping their kids off at the center aren’t allowed to bring cell phones on the premise for fear that they’ll snap a photo of dear Angie.

This whole story leaves me with a few thoughts.

1) Did Angie recently read “The Feminine Mistake“?

2) Why can’t Angie just hire a nanny? The kids will have plenty of socialization with each other. Heck, they make up their own day care class pretty much on their own. And then, she’d just have to worry about the nanny taking scandalous photos vs. all those nasty “working moms.”

3) Celeb weeklies: please, please don’t you get caught up in the “Mommy Wars” too. Because then I will have to wait until Paris Hilton gets into another car accident so that the cover story changes. And I really enjoy my mindless reading of you.

4) Lastly, if Angelina wants to change her mind about being an SAHM, let her change her mind. Why is her decision about being an SAHM set in stone? Don’t we all waiver from time to time? Hell, if I had 4 kids under 5, I think I’d want to get out of the house too.

Ugh! Angelina Jolie makes me SO mad for SO many different reasons.

1) She already has 4 nannies. Why can’t they take care of the children.

2) The daycare is subsidized. She just bought a $100 million dollar yacht. Why does she need to have subsidized daycare.

3) She has them in fulltime spots and they go 2 hours a day. Any mom that has a kid in daycare knows how frustrating it is to be to be put on a waiting list. We were on a waiting list when I was 3-4 months pregnant for our kid to start when he was 3 months old. Most of the daycares in our area have waiting lists for 6 week-6 month olds of about 1 year. Guess you are supposed to get on the waiting list before you get pregnant.

4)She only pays $931 a month for 4 kids in daycare at fulltime rates!?!?!? To put our son (7 months old) in daycare, we pay a whopping $200 per week (at least $800 per month) FOR ONE FREAKIN KID.She has four kids ages 5, 3, 2 and 11 months. At the rates that our daycare charges, we would pay $641 per week (at least $2564 per month)

5) (Most Importantly)She says that she is doing right by those kids by adopting them and affording them all of the luxuries of her lifestyle but how can she call herself a mom (WM or SAHM)? Does she change diapers, make bottles, kiss booboos, any of the things that we as mothers have to do?

Sorry for ranting but once I got started I couldn’t control myself and I don’t have a blog to vent about it on.

I heard on the radio tonight that she doesn’t want anything to do with her natural born child. That she will play with, and tend to, the other children but leaves Shiloh (?) with Brad, that she doesn’t even want to pick her up. If it is true, it is very sad.

On a seperate note, It must be hard and stressful to be a celebrity mom. I can’t even imagine the pressures.

Let’s see … not to defend Angelina Jolie, or anything, but as a mom of an adopted daughter, there might be a few issues she needs to focus on with all those kids and helping them to bond as a family? I’m just saying …
