She’s got to be lying, right?

kelly-ripa.jpgCelebrity working mom, Kelly Ripa, in last week’s issue of Us Weekly:

I’m lucky to have my job, but it has never been the central nervous system of my life. My husband and children and parents are.

I like Kelly Ripa and all - but seriously - how can she co-host a daily talk show, star in a sitcom (I know Hope & Faith is off the air, but still) have time to look THAT good and say her job is not the central nervous system of her life?

Ms. Ripa - I don’t buy it.  I need a little dose of reality.  Like you hit up the surgeon for a “little tuck” after baby number three because you had to go on the air four weeks later.  Or that you forgot your hubby’s birthday because you worked late.  Or something.  Otherwise, I will be forced to hate you and will have no other choice but to watch Martha Stewart instead.  And I don’t want that.

    Hate away, LOL…

Trainer takes the place of the “Nip & Tucker”. If she were looking for a little cosmetic surgery, the “outie” would now be an “innie”.

Seriously, I really think, with Kelly, it IS “WHYSIWYG”. I find it amazing (and disconcerting) that everyone, who really knows her, seems to love her. That alone is worth a short “hate” session.

Please find a newer picture… Hah! That one is SO last year! *wink*

I’d rather hear her say that her brain and spinal cord are her central nervous system, but, I guess that’s just the nurse in me.

well, I love her and am mildly obsessed with her, and I think she looks good naturally. I would give anything to look like her and I am younger than she it and only have TWO kids!

I think she’s a high energy person. She talks about her daily workouts on the show

I think that’s the kosher answer since if she said her job was her life source everyone would be down her throat for being a “selfish” mom.

It’s all relative. Her job may not *seem* like the central focus of her life *to her* because she makes MEGA BUCKS and can afford to have a fitness trainer come into her home every day, to hire people to clean her house, and to order take-out every night (I read an interview in which she stated these facts). So hey, if I had someone cooking and cleaning for me and someone to coach me through a workout every day, even with a full-time job, I’d probably also be able to feel that my family is the “central nervous system” of my life. I’d have much more quality time to focus on/with them.

    Hello,
I happened upon your blog today and have enjoyed reading. You are a great writer and the pictures were nice as well.
P.S. I like Kelly Ripa, but I have a hard time believing her when she comes across as Polly Anna also. Gimme a break….

I think she’s just a good person and everyone shouldn’t doubt
her just because she’s famous. People should respect her for
all that she’s done and just leave her alone and keep their rude
opinons to themselves. I think she does the best she can with
everything she can and that’s all anyone can ask.
